Karen O'Neil photographed the winter solstice sunrise as it appeared through the viewing notch of rocks at SVT's Half Moon Meadow Brook Reservation in Boxborough.  The site, allegedly a Native American ceremonial stone structure, is the focus of an annual SVT event led by member, George Krusen.

 

Chris Jenny submitted these photos of a great horned owl in Wayland.  The bird had become tangled in a soccer net, and, happily, was able to be freed by a local bird rehabilitator.
