After the success of our two previous AmeriCorps-MassLIFT members, Erin Snook and Thai Ha-Ngoc, SVT will host two new members in 2011-2012. 

Ashley Davies is serving as a Regional Conservationist for the Land Protection Department.  Ashley has a background in environmental law and has previously interned with a number of land conservation organizations. Ashley’s main focus will be on getting to know the communities in the SuAsCo watershed and assisting towns, land trusts, and SVT in their land conservation efforts. Ashley can assist with priority lands identification, landowner outreach, aggregation of conservation projects, and workshops on a variety of topics including conservation options, estate planning, and tax benefits of land conservation.

Audra Valaitis is serving as a Land Steward for the Stewardship Department. She brings with her a background in wildlife research and monitoring. Audra’s primary duties include completing management plans, baseline documentation, and monitoring activities on SVT lands.  She will also facilitate regional meetings and collaborative land management projects for the West Suburban Conservation Council, a local arm of the New England Wildlands & Woodlands initiative. Finally, Audra will organize training workshops on land stewardship and monitoring for local land managers.
