Mark Mayall used his remote wildlife camera to capture this series of fisher photos at SVT's Brues Woods in Sudbury.  The fisher approaches the camera and evidently jars it around a bit, and gives it a good sniff before heading away.  Mark writes:  "I came across a large pine blowdown that's covered in moss in a large open hollow.  There are multiple scats on it which I figured were from the fisher.  I set up the camera and the fisher did show up and from the looks of things it sniffed the camera directly on the lens before trudging away.  I also got shots of a blue jay, a deer with sprouting antlers, and the fisher at night which didn't come out well with it being so close to the flash.  You can see some of the scats on the mossy tree in the picture of the deer."
Learn a bit more about the behavior and apparent curiosity of some fisher in this recent Scientist at Work blog entry from the New York Times.  It features a study using remote wildlife cameras as well.
