Welcome to Nature Sightings. Here, we post nature sightings that have been reported to us throughout the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers Valley. Killdeer Nest in Lincoln

Joshua Passe photographed this killdeer and its nest amongst strawberries at Linden Tree Farm in Lincoln. The adult killdeer often attempt to draw attention away from their vulnerable ground nests by feigning injury to their wings, as this one is doing in the first photo.
