Eager Forest Protected in Berlin
On May 31st, SVT and the Town of Berlin completed a transaction that results in the protection of 56 acres on Ball Hill Road to be known as Eager Forest. Longtime Berlin resident Barry Eager sold the property to SVT in a less-than-fair-market-value sale, and SVT held the property until the Town received a state LAND grant for a portion of the purchase price. SVT then sold the property to the Town and retained a perpetual conservation restriction. The land connects to other conservation land owned by the Towns of Berlin and Boylston and by SVT, and will be open to the public for passive recreation. Read more about the project and see a map.
