Earth Day, on April 22nd, is a day to celebrate the awesome natural world that surrounds us and to question, as its guardians, how we can help protect it. Land trusts, with their contribution to open space, safe habitat, clean air and clean water are certianly a part of the solution. Your support of SVT is a way to show you care. Here are two opportunities.
We are looking for members with properties to display SVT Earth Day lawn signs. The signs should be displayed from April 15th to April 29th. If you still have a sign from last year, remember to display it and show your support for Earth Day and SVT! If you would like to host a sign, please call Ashley Davies at 978-443-5588 x 121 or send an email to
adavies@svtweb.org with your contact information.
SVT is hosting its second annual
Earth Day "trail-a-thon" fundraiser on Sunday April 28, beginning at noon at the Memorial Forest in Sudbury. The walk will include a 10K (6.2 mile) route and a family-friendly 3K (under 2 mile) loop. Naturalists will join walkers to introduce the many habitats existing on the lands. A scavenger hunt will be available for younger participants - or the young at heart. Refreshments will be served and patches will be awarded.
All adult walkers are encouraged to maximize sponsorship, but must be willing to commit to a $25 minimum contribution. All sponsors pledging $25 or more will receive a one year membership to SVT, enabling them to learn more about the organization and its accomplishments.
